Fuel price increase sparks outcry February 06, 2008, 06:00 Retail group Pick 'n Pay has reiterated its call for an urgent review of the current pricing structures which govern the price of fuel locally. The price of petrol went up by 17 cents a litre last night. Diesel has also gone up by seven cents per litre. The company says Petrol remains the only commodity which enjoys state-controlled pricing. Pick 'n Pay says nothing came out of a government Task Team recommendation for the easing of regulation in the fuel retail market a year ago. It says the current price fixing is not good for consumers - who are already feeling pressure from rising interest rate increases and growing inflation. www.sabcnews.com
