Name of Book: THE BLESSED WOMEN OF ISLAM

Author: MUHAMMED SAEED SIDDIQI

Publisher: TAJ CO.

Edition: 1977

As much as we need to know about the great men of our Ummah, equally we need
to learn about the indomitable role our women played. Their sacrifices and
piety is indeed outstanding – but history has not recorded it to the extent it deserves.
Their exemplary lives remain a perennial source of guidance and
inspiration to the women of the world.

The author selected sixty-two such female personalities who are a
galaxy of stars. Selectively the author has chosen the first five
great women from amongst the sixty-two, not from the Ummah of Rasulullah
(Sallalaahu alayhi wasallam). They are: Sarah, Hajirah, Rehmat, Asiyah and Maryam (AS).
For the researcher, the author has (in most cases) included the following
sub-headings: genealogy, marriage, death, children and character. An ideal book to have in one's personal library.
