We are well aware of the AIDS pandemic that has cost the lives of thousands of people in South Africa. This work has been the 1st Muslim response to this HIV/AIDS epidemic in South Africa.

The book is divided into 2 parts: the 1st part deals with the origin and transmission of HIV/AIDS, its impact and the South African government's plan of action to combat the ever- increasing pandemic. The 2nd part deals with the initiatives undertaken by the major religions in South Africa fighting the spread of this killer disease.

The book in general is an overview of the impact HIV/AIDS has on the family, household resources, labour force and the ethical problems faced by the adherents of all religious traditions.
