The Mercury “Premier shocked at Home Affairs” was the caption of last week's report in your paper. After so much of noise made over the years with regard to the alleged irregularities and slow services at the Home Affairs Department, KZN Premier, the respected S'bu Ndebele at this late hour makes shocking findings. Perhaps a visit to the offices was indeed long overdue. In any case we would welcome the Premier's long overdue visit as a means to improve the present situation to one of quick and efficient delivery. Again and again the one very prominent evil perpetrated and common to almost all areas of work is corruption and bribery. South Africa needs to fight this scourge at every level.
