Ref: nik002/07 August 2007 Q: Can the nikah be performed for a couple should the spouse be 5 months pregnant? A: Nikah with a woman who is pregnant could be performed provided this woman is not in iddah as a result of divorce or death of her previous husband. It should be noted that if the prospective husband is not the biological father of the foetus he will not be permitted to have sexual relations with this woman until she gives birth.
