Name of Book: Tafseer Ibn Kathir [Summarized]
Commentary By: Imaam Al Hafiz Abul Rida bin Kathir Ad Dimishqi
Translator: Habib Badr
Number of Pages: 167
The voluminous and acclaimed commentary of the Noble Quran by the respected Imaam occupies the shelf of most libraries of the world. The author, Imamuddin Ismail bin Umar bin Kathir [RA], was a great historian and specialised in the sciences of Hadith, with further interest in Fiqh [Islamic Jurisprudence].
Tafsir Ibn Kathir [summarized] is an abridged version of the 30th para. He has used the Holy Quran to explain the Quran in the first instance and then the authority of Nabi [Sallalahu Alaihi Wasallam], who explained the meanings of much of what is in the Quran, either expressly to his Companions, or implicitly by his actions. On the third level, Ibn Kathir [RA] used the understanding of the Sahaba (RA) as an authority for his commentary.
Publications of this kind give us no excuse not to understand the Noble Quran in its meaning, especially the smaller Surahs which are often read in our Salaah. The book is well-presented with high quality paper and legibility is excellent. A highly recommended book.
