It is thus logical that, to bring happiness and joy to a Muslim is indeed a superb and extremely meritorious act. In one narration Nabi (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said :
‘ --- to make another Muslim happy is the greatest and most virtuous act.’
This Hadeeth strongly underscores the fact that to please and light up the heart of a Muslim with joy is an exceptionally great and rewarding act in the sight of Allah (Azza wa Jalla).
Anas (RA) reports Nabi (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) saying :
“ --- whomsoever meets his Muslim brother with that which will make him happy, then Allah (Tabaraka wa Ta’ala) will make the person, who caused the happiness, also happy.” (Thawabul Amalis – Saleh)
Effectively this means that one should have good words for a fellow Muslim, be kind and positive towards him, present some gifts to him, visit the brother purely for the pleasure of Allah (Subhanhu wa Ta’ala) or fulfill some need/s of his Muslim brother, for which this brother will become happy and show appreciation.
Because of this kind act --- bringing joy to a fellow brother -- which Allah (Shaanuhu) loves so much, our kind and loving Allah (Shaanuhu) will bring immense joy to this person, who brought joy to his fellow brother, on the Day of Qiyamat, when it will matter the most!
