Be good towards widows and the poor

Hazrat Safwaan bin Saleem (RA) reports that Rasulullah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said: “The person who assist the widows and poor is equal to the person fighting in the path of Allah; and like the person continuously performing Salah at night; and like the person who fast continuously.” (Bukhari: At TargheebTarheeb)

Generally there is less focus on people who are less fortunate and deserving of assistance.

Due to of their position and standing in society, they are given less attention and priority.

However, Islam honours such people.

The Noble Quran has repeatedly made reference to the kind-heartedness and respect shown to the poor and needy. Similarly, Nabi (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) has mentioned that showing deep kindness and respect towards widows and the poor stimulate great rewards.
