The decadence of man is accelerating at an appalling rate. Surprisingly, the world is turning a blind-eye and is least concerned about this.
Academia and intelligentsia conveniently ignore the human element of good character.
Once a group of Sahaba (RA) questioned Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) as to what is to most superior and perfect quality for a Muslim to possess?
Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) replied: “The one that has the best character.” (Abu Dawud).
There is no doubt that good character is a fundamental hallmark of the human race. In the words of Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) from the numerous narrations, “good character” emerges as a frontline image and essentially the most important component in the life of a person.
Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) once asked the Sahaba (RA), “Must I not inform you who will be loved most by Allah Ta’ala and who will be closest to me on the day of Qiyaamah?”
The Sahaba (RA) replied, “Most certainly, O Rasul of Allah!”
Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, “That person who possesses the best of character.” (Ibn Habban)
