Al Ihsan Caregiver Course

The ‘Al Ihsan Caregiver Course’ is among the Skills Development programmes conducted by the Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre. The course provides skills training – at no cost – to females in nursing and care for the aged, frail and invalid.

The course is conducted over a four month period with two-three hour tutorials per week. Continuous assessments are carried out during the course and a final written exam - with a practical demonstration - are taken at the end of the course and certificates of attendance are issued to successful candidates. The first ‘Caregiver Course’ for 2018 is currently underway with 19 participants from Durban and surrounding areas. Thus far 44 ladies have graduated as Caregivers.

Alhamdulillah, recently a participant attending the course embraced Islam. She expressed her feelings on what prompted her to take the Shahadah.

“Before I came to Darul Ihsan I had been experiencing many problems. Once I entered the classes I found a lot of peace and comfort amongst the many Muslim participants. I started liking this way of life of Muslims. I realised that Islam is a simple way of life and I enjoyed being amongst Muslim people. They are so friendly and pleasant and they are always willing to help anybody – regardless of colour or race.”
