Blanket distribution at Christopher Nxumalo School

Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre - in its ongoing ‘Sponsor-A-Blanket’ drive - partnered with Orient Islamic School to distribute blankets to learners at the Christopher Nxumalo Primary School in Chesterville on Monday, 30 July 2018.

The Principal of the school, Ms Zandile Dlamini, and members of the school management identified 120 of the most deserving learners as recipients. Pupils from the Orient Islamic School raised funds towards the purchase of the blankets and assisted the Outreach Team in personally handing the blankets over to the learners.

The Principal and staff of the Christopher Nxumalo Primary School welcomed the DHC Outreach Team and group of pupils from Orient Islamic and expressed their sincere appreciation for the distribution of blankets.

The Orient pupils sang a nazm (poetry) in praise of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) at the school to foster good relations with our communities.

Mrs R Soni, an educator at Orient Islamic School, headed the group of pupils and thanked the outreach team for affording them the opportunity to participate in the ‘Sponsor-A-Blanket’ drive.

Every year, Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre - through its annual ‘Sponsor-A-Blanket’ campaign - distributes thousands of blankets to needy communities facing cold winters across the country.

These relief outreaches are made possible through the generous contributions and ongoing support of the Muslim community.
