Ongoing Outreach initiatives benefiting local communities

Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre’s Outreach Team facilitated several programmes of feeding and blanket distribution to impoverished communities.

On 8 August, 2018 Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre’s Outreach Team - together with a group of volunteer sisters – distributed 200 blankets and 200 snack packs consisting of assorted fruit, potato crisps and biscuits to patients at the KwaDabeka Community Health Centre.

“The outreach has really meant a lot to this community because the patients come early in the morning, many as early as 4:00 AM. All who have received the blankets are not only grateful but are pleasantly surprised at this kind gesture,” (facilitator Ms Jali).

Additionally on the 8, the Outreach Team – through its office in Johannesburg – distributed 170 blankets to learners at the Bree Primary School in Mayfair West. Biscuits and snacks were also handed to the children at the school.

On Friday, 10 August 2018, Over 100 hot meals were provided for the children at the Anjuman Eikhavatool Islam Orphanage in Mayville. Cool-drinks and snack packs were also distributed to the children. The meals, cool-drinks and snack packs were sponsored by the kind gesture of a community member on the occasion of his Nikah which had taken place earlier in the day.

These outreaches are made possible through the generous contributions and ongoing support of the Muslim community.
