‘Feed the Needy’ outreach at Chatsworth

The ‘Feed the Needy’ outreach programme of Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre provides hot-packed meals to groups of indigent and destitute individuals in both urban and suburban areas.

On Saturday, 9 February 2019, Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre’s Outreach team, together with volunteers, delivered and handed 675 hot-packed meals and canned food to the residents of the Cocobar and Manyeleni Informal settlements in Bayview, Chatsworth, Durban.

The residents expressed much gratitude to the team and volunteers for providing the meals.

Apa Aswitha a local resident and Ms Thandeka Dhlamini, a coordinator of the settlements, thanked Abdul Saeed Shaik, Head of the DHC team, for the kind gesture.

Every month the ‘mobile’ Outreach team delivers hot-packed meals to many areas.

These and other outreaches of are made possible through the generous contributions and ongoing support of the Muslim community.
