In a recent feeding outreach, Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre provided meals for residents at the Mbabazane informal settlement in Vryheid.
On Saturday 14 September 2019 the Relief Team of Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre – in conjunction with Safeeraatut Deen and volunteer members of the Muslim community of Vryheid – distributed hot-packed meals, bread, potato crisps and sweets to 450 women, children and men at the settlement. Many residents at the settlement expressed their deep appreciation for the provision of the meals and snacks.
Conditions at the settlement are dire – most residents live in mud dwellings with no running water facilities nor access to electricity. Also, almost all adults who reside at the settlement are unemployed.
A senior representative of Safeeraatur Deen - who coordinated and facilitated the relief operation - expressed her sincere thanks to Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre for the much-needed relief operation at the settlement.
“The feeding outreach was a great opportunity for the Vryheid Muslim community to fulfil a Sunnah of our beloved Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam). It was heart-warming to witness young and elders of our community working together for a good and noble cause. May Allah reward all abundantly for being involved in the successful distribution of meals to the needy residents of the settlement. We look forward to working with Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre for more feeding outreaches in the future, Insha Allah. May Allah Ta’ala grant success, good health and abundant rewards to all members of Darul Ihsan to continue with their humanitarian effort. Ameen.”
These outreaches are made possible through the generous contributions and ongoing support of the Muslim community.
