Meals for residents at Quarry Road Informal Settlement

On Saturday 25 January 2020 Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre’s Relief Team together with community volunteers provided meals for residents at the Quarry Road West informal settlement situated along the M19 Freeway in Durban.

Relief Team members and volunteers were met and welcomed by Mr Zama Mkhize, a committee member of the settlement. A total of 250 hot-packed meals were distributed to children and adults at the settlement.

Many residents expressed their gratitude to Relief Team members for the meals and Mr Zama Mkhize also expressed his sincere appreciation to the Relief Team for remembering them – particularly in view of the high unemployment amongst the adults at the settlement.

The Relief Team regularly distributes meals to indigent residents of many informal settlements in the greater Durban area.

Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre thanks all our contributors and volunteers for their unwavering support in making these relief outreaches possible.
