The article “Growing opposition to sex education curriculum proposal,” The Mercury, Monday, 11 November 2019 refers.
There seems to be either a lack of communication or miscommunication between the Department of Education and civil society on the introduction of Comprehensive Sexual Education (CSE) into the school curriculum.
Situations like these do not augur well for our country and, if real, certainly does not augur well for our democracy.
Our government raises the flag of the ‘Rainbow Nation’ and the message of Ubuntu - yet it seems that many are not consulted on sensitive matters that can impact on our children.
Consultancy is key with all people of our country.
