Quran burning warningsUS military commanders in Afghanistan say that the Florida church's plan to burn copies of Islam’s holy book on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks could endanger US troops' lives.

Two senior US commanders said on Monday that the planned burning of Quran copies will undermine US President Obama's effort to reach out to the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims. They said it could also trigger retaliation against US forces serving in Afghanistan.

More Pakistan floods prompt fresh evacuation from townsAmid fresh flooding several hundred thousand more people have been forced to flee towns and villages in Pakistan's southern Sindh province.

Flood waters are gushing towards the Dadu district after a breach in the Toori dam in the north of the already flood-hit region. So far 19 out of 23 districts of the Sindh province have been flooded. The Toori dam was washed away in August, causing the waters of the River Indus to split in two.

72 innocent Kashmiris killed by Indian troops in AugustAccording to the Kashmir Media Service (KMS) Indian troops, in their continued acts of state terrorism, have killed 72 innocent Kashmiris - including 31 teenagers and 4 women - during the month of August.

The data compiled by the Research Section of KMS stated that three Kashmiris were killed in custody and the killings rendered three women widowed and nine children orphaned.
