It is reported that Rasulullah (Salallahu Alaihi wa Salam) said to Hazrat ‘Aisha (R): “On this night (15 Shaban) read this dua and teach it to others. Jibra’eel u taught this dua to me.”

‘Auzu bi’afwika min ‘iqabika wa ‘auzu bi Ridhaka min sakhatika wa ‘auzu bika minka jalla wajhuka la uhsee sana an ‘alayka Anta kama asnayta ‘ala nafsik

Translation: (O Allah) I seek protection in Your forgiveness from Your punishment; and I seek shelter in Your pleasure from Your displeasure; and I seek safety in You, from You. Glory be to You. I am unable to fully praise You. You are as you have praised Yourself. (Bayhaqi)

Dua for Approach of Ramadan

Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (R) narrates that Rasulullah (Salallahu Alaihi wa Salam) used to teach the Sahabah (R) the following Dua at the approach Ramadan:

Allahumma Sallimnee Li Ramadana Wa Sallim Ramadana Lee Wa Sallimhu Mutaqabbala

Translation:  “O Allah! Safeguard me for the month of Ramadan (by making me see the month of Ramadan healthy and fit so that I can take maximum benefit from it), and safeguard the month of Ramadan for me (by making the conditions in it such that I can take maximum benefit from it) and accept it from me.” (Kanz-ul-ummal)
