Following the declining state of the Northern Wastewater Treatment Works in Durban, the municipality has revealed a sum of R500 million that will go to completing repairs.
Additionally, the plant has been identified as responsible for the pollution of the uMgeni River and beaches in the eThekwini Municipality. Head of water and sanitation, Ednick Msweli, said that the treatment works are expected to be fully operational by December.
