Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre’s ‘Feed the Needy’ initiative provides hot-packed meals for the indigent and destitute.
On Saturday, 11 May 2019 the Centre’s Relief team - together with community volunteers - travelled to the Cocobar and Manyeleni informal settlements in Chatsworth and distributed a total of 520 hot-packed meals to all residents of the settlements.
In addition, 200 packets of maize snacks were handed to children at the settlements.
Sister Aswitha and Thandeka Duma - both residents in the area - assisted in co-ordinating the feeding by gathering the residents of the settlements at a central point to facilitate the feeding.
Many residents thanked the team for the much needed food relief.
These and other outreaches of Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre are made possible through the generous contributions and ongoing support of the Muslim community.
