Upon whom is fasting compulsory
Q. Upon whom is fasting obligatory?
A. Fasting is obligatory upon every sane adult Muslim male and female in the month of Ramadan. It is not obligatory on a minor to fast. However, children should be encouraged to fast from the age of seven.
