The event which garnered an attendance of close to 70 Muslimahs, aged between 9-15 years old.

The programme opened with a beautiful Qirat recitation pertinent to the event theme, which showed the signs of Allah’s creations, providing an apt introduction for the youth to the importance of recognising these signs. Examples were discussed such as different types of weather, the food we eat, as well as the colours we see, amongst a rich variety of others.

One of the beautiful names of Allah, “Al-Khalik”, was emphasised and explained in great detail, exposing attendees to its profound pertinence in our lives. They were encouraged to ponder and admire the creation, power, and bounties of Allah, as well as to always express gratitude for it, both verbally and through acts of obedience.

Following the presentation and talk, attendees were advised to set an intention of pondering what was discussed. After a quick introduction to and tips on how to use their crafting tools effectively, an exciting paint session took place, wherein the youth painted colourful and creative landscapes. Additionally, the word “Khalik” was placed on every canvas, encouraging and inspiring them to constantly remember Allah in these pieces.

Many creative and beautiful works were produced, with the attendees and friendly DOU members assisting and motivating others throughout the session.

Thereafter, the youth were provided with scrumptious refreshments and snacks, as their paintings were given time to dry. Following this, the event closed with a thoughtful and heartfelt Du’a.

“The programme was good,” stated an attendee. “I really liked the painting.”

Another elaborated, “It was spiritually inspirational. They talked about something I never thought of. I always thought everything I did was because of me… so this taught me a lot.”
