With the start of August, the Blanket Drive at the Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre picked up again in KwaZulu-Natal.

On the cold Monday morning of August 5, the Darul Ihsan Outreach Team traveled to Bergville where they were met by Mufti Chohan of the Bergville Madressah. He welcomed them warmly and gave the team permission to distribute blankets outside the facility.

As they set up for the distribution, the Mayor Councillor; VR Mlotshwa of the Okahlamba Local Municipality; and his entourage arrived to participate in the event. The Mayor introduced the team to the Deputy Mayor, speaker, ward councillors, and other staff.

The Mayor then delivered an opening speech, welcoming the Darul Ihsan team and thanking them for their presence and contribution to the community in this cold period. A representative of the Darul Ihsan Centre Outreach thereafter addressed community members and officials present, which was met with loud applause and thanks for the kind gifts.
In collaboration with the Okahlamba Local Municipality Mayor's Office, the Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre's blanket distribution took place. A number of 180 blankets were handed out to residents. Additionally, municipality officials handed out snacks to community members.

The residents and officials present offered the team profuse thanks and gratitude for their work. They also eagerly invited the Darul Ihsan team to participate in future projects and programmes within the municipality.

This initiative is made possible by the grace and mercy of Allah. The Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre continues striving to give back to communities in need, especially during the cold months.
