Translation: “Soon the one who is Atqa (has the most Taqwa) will be distanced from it (Jahannam). The one who spends his wealth to purify it. While no one has conferred any favour on him for which he would give a return, but (he gave his wealth in charity) only to seek the pleasure of his Rabb the Most High. And surely soon he will be happy.” (Surah Layl V.17-21)”
Ibn Abi Hatim reports from Urwah (Rahimahullah) that seven Muslims had been enslaved by the Makkans. When they became Muslims, they were severely persecuted. Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddeeq (Radiyallahu Anhu) spent a huge amount of his wealth to purchase them and set them free. (Ma'ariful Qur'an Vol. Pg.763).
These slaves were: Hazrat Bilal, Hazrat Abu Fukayhah, Hazrat Amir ibn Fuhairah and Hazrat Zinneerah (Radiyallahu Anhum), Hazrat Nahdiyyah (Radiyallahu Anha, her daughter Hazrat Labinah, Hazrat Mutiyyah and Hazrat Abu Ubais (Radiyallahu Anhum).
