Rural Communities Benefit From Land Restoration Project

These projects seek to improve access to water, create jobs, skills development, as well as the promotion of sustainable land management.

As part of the project, two boreholes were handed over to the communities of Rietfontein and Pilandersbron. Additionally, a number of women, youth, and persons with disabilities are to receive training and employment.

Deputy Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Bernice Swarts, said, “Together we need to work towards ensuring sustainable land management and environmental stewardship to ensure healthier ecosystems and strengthened socio-economic conditions of rural communities.”
