According to the city, a variety of fast food chain outlets have signed leases for the Lower Marine Parade development. eThekwini spokesperson, Senzelwe Mzila, has stated that the redevelopment will be open in time for the 2027 festive season.
“This transformation will expand commercial space to 4,000 sq metres, bringing popular national food brands and exciting new dining experiences to our iconic beachfront,” he said. “Crucially, this project will double permanent jobs at the site to 170, while creating 80 additional jobs during the construction phase.
“This development reflects booming confidence in our beachfront promenade, which has already welcomed over 11 million visitors this year.”
