Q: Should Hanafis do Miswak before Salah?

A: According to the Hanafi Mazhab, it is Sunnah to use the Miswak at the time of Wudhu. Using Miswak before Salah, is also permissible. However, if due to this bleeding occurs from the gums and mouth, then the Wudhu will break. Al-Ghayah (Sharhul Hidayah), Vol 1, Page 68
